Kalashnikov-Technofest

The second international open scientific and technical robotics festival “Kalashninov — Technofest” was inaugurated on February 4 at the Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University. The Ural Mathematical Center at the Udmurt State University was one of the co-organizers of the festival.
Heads of organizations and institutes of higher education of the Udmurt Republic, and representatives of the organizers and partners of the festival addressed a welcome speech to the participants in and the guests of the festival.
In his speech addressed to the participants in the robotics festival, Andrey Baryshnikov, the managing director of the joint-stock company “Kalashnikov Concern” , stressed that robotics is one of the top-priority areas of children’s creative work, and wished the children to enjoy these competitions.

A.V.Gubert, the acting head of the Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, cordially congratulated the participants on the festival and noted that this event opened the large Science Festival which was being held at the university and would continue until the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the university, which was celebrated on February 22. Therefore, it may be said that this festival was timed to coincide with this anniversary. A.V.Gubert said: “It is pleasant to see children interested in robotics. We sincerely hope that you will develop your knowledge of robotics and that, after leaving school, you will be our students”.

A.N.Kopysov, the prorector for scientific and innovative activities of the Izhevsk State Technical University, I.S. Mamaev, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, professor at the Department of Mechatronic Systems, and professor A.V.Shchenyatskii, Doctor of Engineering, head of the Department of Mechatronic Systems, also congratulated the schoolchildren. The speakers pointed out that the festival had gathered the best and the most creative minds among schoolchildren. It is creative persons who create something new, make life more interesting, and it is them who will advance science.

According to Yu.L.Karavaev, Associate Professor at the Department of Mechatronic Systems and one of the organizers of the festival, 260 persons have participated in the festival, whereas last year there were only 135 participants.

The events planned within the framework of the festival were held at three locations:

  • The polytechnical competition was held on the premises of the House of Scientific Collaboration of the Udmurt State University and the Kalashnikov Academy;
  • The mobile robots and unmanned aircraft competitions were held on the premises of the Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

  • A complete program of festival events was posted on the website of the festival. Online translations of the competitions from all locations were organized on the YouTube-Channel of the Festival.
