Conferences in Sirius

In September, the researchers from the Ural Mathematical Center participated simultaneously in two conferences which were held in the Federal territory “Sirius”.

An international conference entitled "Integrable Systems and their Applications" was held from September 12 to September 16. It was organized by scientists from the Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and from universities of Beijing. The conference was aimed at involving worldwide renowned experts and young scientists in promising research on geometry and topology, dynamical systems, and other related branches of mathematics. Among the conference participants were Russian and Chinese experts in integrable systems and geometry.

During this conference, I.S. Mamaev, head of the Ural Mathematical Center, gave a plenary talk entitled "Dynamics of Particles in a Kerr Metric".

An international conference entitled "Dynamical Systems of Classical and Celestial Mechanics" was held from September 13 to September 23. It was organized with the support from the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Moscow State University. The scientific program of the conference included three main directions of research: the search for integrable cases, the development of methods of perturbation theory for the study of nearly integrable systems, and the study of dynamical chaos. The conference discussed not only general theoretical approaches to analysis of dynamical phenomena, but also the results of investigation of specific systems.

E.N. Pivovarova, senior researcher at the Ural Mathematical Center, gave a talk on the topic "Dynamics of a Chaplygin Sphere on a Vibrating Plane". E.M. Artemova, a postgraduate student at the Ural Mathematical Center, made a poster presentation on the topic "Nonlinear Stability of Regular Vortex N-gons in a Bose–Einstein Condensate".
