13th international summer scientific school/conference “Hydrodynamics of Large Velocities and Shipbuilding”

The 13th international summer scientific school/conference “Hydrodynamics of Large Velocities and Shipbuilding” was held from June 21 to June 23 at the Ulyanov Chuvash State University. The school/conference was dedicated to the 160th birthday of A.N.Krylov, an outstanding Russian and Soviet mathematician, mechanical engineer and naval architect.

Within the framework of this event, talks and presentations were given in the sections “Mathematical Models of Hydrodynamics and Shipbuilding”, “Mathematical Models and Methods in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Economy and Education”, “Nonlinear Dynamics, Vortex Structures and Robotics”. Scientists from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan and Izhevsk participated in the conference. Also, talks were given online by scientists from Pereslavl-Zalessky, Japan and Australia.

A.Alexandrov, rector of the Ulyanov Chuvash State University, representatives of the government of the Chuvash Republic and the Ministry of Education of the Chuvash Republic, and A.G.Terent’ev, chairman of the program committee of the conference, participated in the opening of the conference.

Plenar talks were given by A.G. Terent’ev and V.S.Abrukov, representatives of the Chuvash University, and by I.S. Mamaev, head of the Ural Mathematical Center (Udmurt State University). In the first part of his lecture, I.S. Mamaev presented the main lines of activities of the Ural Mathematical Center: theoretical and experimental investigations of the motion of mechanical and robotic systems, publication of scientific literature, and organization of various events for undergraduate students and high-school students. He also reported on the research results on the dynamics of a system that models the motion of a Roller Racer on a plane.

Within the framework of the conference, the representatives of the Ural Mathematical Center and the Chuvash State University organized the largest section “Nonlinear Dynamics, Vortex Structures and Robotics”. In this section, talks were given by young employees of the Ural Mathematical Center: E.V. Vetchanin, K.S. Yefremov, T.B. Ivanova, Yu.L. Karavaev and E.N. Pivovarova. The postgraduate students of the center, E.M. Artemova and I.S. Zvonarev presented the results of their research work within the framework of the poster session.
